Who we are

FossPress is an author-first, rev-share go-to-market service for authors, operating from the United Kingdom. FossPress is the trading name of Foss Publishing, the publishing imprint of record. Foss Publishing is the data controller for the information described below. For any privacy question or data request, reach us through our contact form.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run your book's launch:

• Account details, when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier, used only to identify and secure your account.
• Manuscripts, the manuscript files you upload are stored on our systems and used only to run the checks you start and the launch work you ask for. They are never shared beyond that and are removed when you delete the book or your account.
• Channel authorisations, when you connect a channel (e.g. X, Meta, Goodreads) we store the authorisation token that lets us post on your behalf. We never receive or store your passwords.
• Book and marketing data, the book, listing and campaign details you give us, plus the cross-channel performance data (ad spend, clicks, reviews, sales) we gather to run and measure your launch.

How we use it

We use your information to operate your go-to-market across the channels you authorise, to show you honest cross-channel performance, and to calculate the revenue share on the sales we drive. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers needed to deliver the launch, for example the platforms you connect (Amazon, and any social channels), our authentication provider (Google), and the tools we use to store data and run automation on your behalf. Each receives only what its part of the job requires.

Our sub-processors and international transfers

The service providers that process personal data on our behalf are:

• Airtable (US), our primary data store.
• n8n Cloud (EU), workflow automation.
• Google (US), sign-in, email delivery and connected channel APIs.
• Cloudflare (US), site hosting, form anti-spam and network security.
• Amazon, IngramSpark and Nielsen (US/UK), publishing and distributing your book at your instruction.
• Telegram (international), operational notifications to our own team only.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK data-protection law recognises, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, alongside each provider's own security commitments. Cookies

We use a single sign-in session cookie so you stay logged in to the Author Portal. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. See our full Cookie Policy for detail.

Children

Our services are for adult authors and publishers, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. See our Children’s Privacy notice for how we treat minors’ data.

Data storage and retention

Authorisation and refresh tokens are held server-side only and never exposed to your browser. Manuscript files stay on our systems only while the book is on the engine. We keep your data for as long as we run your book, and remove it on request or a reasonable period after our work together ends.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to withdraw a channel authorisation at any time. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). The Author Portal's Account tab lets you export everything we hold on you, or delete your account and its data, yourself at any time, or ask us through our contact form and we'll do it for you.
